History
1967 A.D.: Chamber Foundation with the name of “Bandipur Merchant Association” at Bandipur, Tanhun.
1974 A.D.: Chamber Office was Transferred to Dumre, Tanahun
1982 A.D.: Chamber Name was Changed into “Tanahun Chamber of Commerce And Industry”
1988 A.D.: Chamber Office was Transferred to Damauli, Tanahun.
1993 A.D.: The first Office Secretary Appointed
1995 A.D.: Started to collect Service Charge
2001 A.D.: Partnership Programme Launched with PCCI/HWK-RH Mainz Germani.

Objectives
The Objectives of the Chamber of Commerce & Industry are as follows:
- To Preserve the rights and the development of the associated business and businessmen and help to promote them by reducing the obstacles on the way.
- Help to upgrade the lifestyle of members by developing cooperation among them.
- To established good relationship with national and international organization for economic development and business promotion.
- To develop the capability of its members and entreprencurs through training, workshop, seminar, meeting, discussion, interaction and observation tour.
- Encourage to promote local trade and industries.
- To participate in social activities to promote community and uplift peoples’ living standard.
Organization
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry is legally registered in His Majesty Government, Home Ministry, District Administration Office, Tanahun under Organization registration Acr 2034 with registration No. 477/054. It is affiliated with Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FNCCI) as a representation of district level chambers of commerce and industry.
Executive Committee
The TCCI is managed by an Executive Committee of thirty one executive members elected through franchise every two years. But General Assembly shall meet at least once a year. The Committee is responsible for formulation and execution of plans and programs under the policy framework of the general body. The executive committee comprises of a President, an immediate Past President, two vice President (1st and 2nd), a Secretary General, a Deputy Secretary General, a Treasurer and 24 other board member. Past president are being as advisor members and past executive are being as invitee members (nominated by executive committee).

This CCI is a District Level CCI that covers all over the district. To provide differet kinds of services easily to members, it has 12 different market units committees. There are four kinds of members as below:

The Secretariat of The Chamber has 5 full time staff for office management and communication (A Programme Officer, A Executive Secretary, a Office Assistant, a Helper & a Peon). It has the following facilities;

Cooperative Agencies/ Programmes of TCCI Chamber partnership Programme
This programme is a partnership programme betwween Pokhara Chamber of Commerce & Industry (PCCI), Handwerks kammer Rheinhessen Mainz/Germany and Tanahun Chamber of Commerce & Industry (TCCI). It is commenced from January 2001 at TCCI. The 1st phase and 2nd phase have been successfully completed. It has been extended for further 3 years as 3rd phase till December 2009. The scope of this programme is as follows;
- Institutional capacity building of the chamber
- Capacity Development of members and entrepreneurs
- Local business promotion
- Promote social, cultural and environmental welfare for the local societies.

Achievement
TCCI was awarded as “Best Chamber Award- 2058″, “Best Chamber Award-2061″ and “Best Chamber Award-2064″ among nationwide ‘B’ Categories Chambers of Commerce and Industry by FNCCI.
